Verifying your phone number
Why we confirm your mobile number, how the one-time code works, and what to do if it does not arrive.
Why we verify your number
Your mobile number is how practices reach you, how reminders arrive, and how WhatsApp and missed-call services recognise you. Verifying it confirms that the number belongs to you, so messages about your health are not sent to someone else.
How it works
- We send a one-time code to your mobile number.
- Enter the code on the verification screen. Each code works once and expires after a few minutes.
- Once the code is accepted, your number shows as verified in your profile.
If the code does not arrive
- Check that the number you entered is correct, including the area code.
- Make sure your phone has signal and is not blocking messages from unknown senders.
- Wait a minute before requesting another code. Only the newest code will work.
- If you request many codes in a short time, we pause new requests for a while to protect your account. Try again later.
Changing your number
You can change your mobile number in your profile. The new number needs to be verified before we use it for messages. If you had linked WhatsApp to your old number, link it again from the new one.
Note: Maatla Care will never phone you and ask for a verification code. Do not share codes with anyone, including someone who says they work for us or for a practice.
