Maatla Care is an intelligent healthcare platform connecting patients, doctors and medical practices. We are building it for the way people here actually live: on WhatsApp, on prepaid airtime, in many languages, and across generations.

To make every step of the healthcare journey simpler for patients, and to give the people who provide care more time to do it.
For patients
Finding a doctor with time for you should not take a morning on the phone. Keeping track of a child’s vaccinations or a parent’s chronic medication should not depend on a paper card. Maatla Care brings booking, reminders and approved records together, in a way that respects your privacy and your budget.
For clinicians and practices
Medicine is hard enough without the paperwork around it. We want doctors to spend their attention on patients, and practice teams to spend less of their day on the phone and chasing payments. Technology should take work away, not add to it.

Designed for here, not adapted later.
Healthcare software built elsewhere often assumes fast data, one language and a desktop at every desk. We start from the conditions people here live with.

Airtime and data cost money.
So booking works with a missed call that costs the caller nothing, and on WhatsApp, which many people already use every day. No heavy app required.

Families look after each other.
So one account can manage care for children, parents and grandparents, with each person's records kept separately.

Many languages are spoken every day.
So we are honest that our automated assistant works in English today, and we will add other South African languages only once each one is accurate.

Practices are stretched.
Front desks juggle phones, paper and queues. Clinicians finish the day with notes still to write. So we take on the admin, and leave clinical judgement where it belongs.

Trust has to be earned.
Health information is deeply personal. So we check doctors' registration before they are bookable, log every record access, and design around POPIA principles.

Every feature has to make getting care simpler for the person who needs it. Patients never pay to find care on Maatla Care.

Clinicians decide
AI drafts and organises. Qualified people make the clinical decisions, and nothing clinical is finalised without their approval.

Honest about AI
Our assistant always says it is automated. It does not diagnose, prescribe or replace a clinician or emergency services.

Privacy by design
Collect only what care needs, encrypt it, limit who can see it, and never share health data with advertisers.

Built for real conditions
Slow connections, shared phones and busy waiting rooms are the starting point, not the exception.

We do not claim certifications we do not hold, and anything shown as an example is clearly marked as sample data.
