Your records and privacy
Who can see your health records
You, and the practices and clinicians caring for you, within the limits of their role. Every view is logged.
You
You can see the information practices share with you in your account, such as appointment history, prescriptions, documents and results your clinician has released.
Practices caring for you
A practice can only see records for patients who have a care relationship with it, for example because you booked with the practice or it registered you.
Within a practice, people see only what their role needs. Reception and billing staff see appointments, contact and billing details. Clinical notes are limited to clinical roles such as doctors and nurses. Practice owners and managers do not read clinical notes unless they also hold a clinical role.
Other practices
Another practice cannot see your records unless you choose to share them, or unless the law requires disclosure in a specific situation.
Maatla Care staff
Our staff do not browse health records. Where a small number of authorised staff need access to fix a technical problem or respond to your request, that access is restricted and logged.
Seeing who looked
Every view of your record is logged with who, when and which practice. You can see this access history in the privacy section of your account. If something looks wrong, contact the practice or our privacy team.
Note: We never sell your personal information, and we never share health information with advertisers.
