Using Maatla Care on WhatsApp
Book, check, move or cancel appointments, get reminders and pay invoices in a WhatsApp chat.
What you can do
- Book an appointment with a participating practice.
- See, move or cancel your upcoming appointments.
- Get booking confirmations and reminders.
- Answer the practice's pre-visit questions.
- Receive a secure link to pay an invoice.
- Ask to talk to a person at the practice.
Getting started
Save the practice's Maatla Care WhatsApp number and send a message such as Hi. You will see a menu. Tap a button, or reply with the number of the option you want. This works even when typing is difficult.
Where supported, you can also send a voice note instead of typing.
Who you are talking to
Menus and replies are automated. Where the practice has switched it on, an AI assistant helps with messages you type in your own words. It always says that it is automated, it does not diagnose or prescribe, and you can ask for a person at any time.
Your privacy in the chat
Anyone can send a message from any phone, so we do not show health details or appointment information until your WhatsApp number is linked to a verified Maatla Care account.
Stopping messages
Send STOP at any time and we stop sending you WhatsApp messages. You can turn them back on in your communication settings.
Important: WhatsApp chats are not monitored for emergencies. If your message mentions warning signs, the chat will tell you to call 10177 or 112, but it cannot send help.
