Missed-call callbacks, and how to stop them
Call a participating practice's Maatla Care number and hang up. An automated assistant calls you back to help you book.
How it works
Some practices offer a callback number so you can reach them without using airtime. Call the number and hang up before it is answered. We treat this as a request for one call back.
An automated assistant then calls you, tells you it is automated, and can help you find and book an open time. You can ask for a person at any time, and the practice will follow up.
When we call
- Only during the practice's permitted calling hours. If you call late at night, we wait until calling hours begin.
- Not repeatedly. Duplicate missed calls are grouped, there is a daily limit per number, and we retry only a small number of times if you do not answer.
- Never if you have opted out of callbacks.
How to stop callbacks
- Say stop, or do not call me, during a callback.
- Turn off automated callbacks in the privacy and communication settings of your account.
- Email support and ask us to stop callbacks to your number.
What happens when you opt out
Any callbacks waiting for your number are cancelled, and your number is added to our do-not-call list for callbacks. You can still phone the practice directly.
Note: A missed call is only ever used to return that call. We never treat it as permission to send you marketing.
